Sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) – Slim Compact Loudspeakers with Air Motion Transformer

The Sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) are slim 2-way bass-reflex compact loudspeakers designed for precise, spacious and detailed music reproduction. An Air Motion Transformer with Wave Guide handles the high-frequency range, while a newly developed mid-bass driver with a Kevlar-reinforced composite cone delivers clear midrange and a controlled bass foundation.

Thanks to their compact dimensions, the loudspeakers are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized rooms. They can be positioned with minimal space requirements and combined with Sonoro MAESTRO Smart Hi-Fi receivers to create a coordinated stereo system.

2-Way Bass-Reflex System for Balanced Sound

The ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) use a 2-way configuration. The high-frequency and mid-bass ranges are reproduced by specially matched drivers.

The bass-reflex design extends low-frequency reproduction and enables a powerful yet controlled sound despite the slim cabinet shape. This makes the loudspeakers suitable for a wide range of musical genres and versatile use in the home.

Air Motion Transformer with Wave Guide

An Air Motion Transformer is used for the high-frequency range. Its folded diaphragm moves air particularly quickly, supporting finely detailed and precise transient reproduction.

The integrated Wave Guide controls sound dispersion and distributes the high frequencies evenly throughout the room. Vocals, instruments and subtle details can therefore be reproduced clearly and with excellent separation.

Kevlar-Reinforced Composite Cone

The mid-bass driver features a newly developed cone made from a Kevlar-reinforced composite material based on paper and bamboo. This combination of materials combines low weight with high rigidity.

As a result, the cone can respond quickly and precisely to the music signal. At the same time, the frequency response is optimised to reproduce midrange and low frequencies with high accuracy and low distortion.

Precise Timing and a Spacious Soundstage

The rearward-sloping baffle aligns the acoustic timing of the individual drivers. In addition, the Air Motion Transformer is positioned off-centre.

Together with the carefully tuned crossover, this construction improves the temporal interaction between the drivers. Instruments can be positioned more precisely within the stereo image, while vocals are reproduced clearly and centrally.

Carefully Tuned Crossover

The crossover divides the music signal between the tweeter and the mid-bass driver. Its tuning ensures an even transition between the individual frequency ranges.

The result is a cohesive sound with clear treble, present vocals and a controlled low-frequency range.

Resonance-Optimised Wooden Cabinet

The cabinet construction largely avoids parallel internal surfaces. This reduces standing waves that can form inside a loudspeaker enclosure.

Cabinet resonances and unwanted sound coloration are minimised, allowing the installed drivers to operate with greater control.

Slim Design for Small and Medium-Sized Rooms

The ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) were developed for space-saving placement. Their slim silhouette allows them to be integrated into living spaces where conventional floorstanding loudspeakers or larger compact loudspeakers would take up too much room.

Despite their compact dimensions, they are designed to deliver room-filling music reproduction in small and medium-sized listening areas.

Hand-Sanded Cabinet with Matt Finish

The wooden cabinet is sanded by hand and finished with a high-quality matt surface. Rounded corners and selected aluminium details give the loudspeakers a modern and understated appearance.

The drivers are integrated into the lacquered baffle without visible screws. This keeps the front clean and uncluttered even when the loudspeaker grilles are removed.

Magnetic Fabric Grilles

The high-quality fabric grilles are attached to the baffle using powerful magnets. This eliminates the need for visible brackets or mounting holes.

Depending on the preferred appearance, the ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) can be used either with or without the grilles.

Compatible with MAESTRO and MAESTRO Quantum

The Sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim (Gen. 2) are designed for use with Sonoro MAESTRO Smart Hi-Fi receivers. They can be combined with either the MAESTRO or the MAESTRO Quantum to create a compact stereo system.

They can also be used with amplifiers from other manufacturers, provided that the technical specifications are compatible with the loudspeakers.
