Sonoro ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature – 3-Way Floorstanding Loudspeakers with AMT
The Sonoro ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature are the manufacturer’s first 3-way floorstanding loudspeakers and the most sophisticated loudspeaker model in the Sonoro Signature Line to date. Two woofers, a dedicated midrange driver and an Air Motion Transformer cover the individual frequency ranges and enable powerful, spacious and highly detailed music reproduction.
The loudspeakers were developed in collaboration with Fink Audio Consulting. A newly tuned crossover, optimised drivers and the rearward-sloping baffle are designed to reduce distortion, improve dispersion and refine the timing between the individual drivers.
3-Way System with Dedicated Frequency Ranges
The ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature use a 3-way configuration. Two woofers reproduce the lower frequencies, while a dedicated midrange driver handles vocals and instruments. An Air Motion Transformer is used for the high-frequency range.
By assigning each frequency range to a dedicated driver, the individual components can be optimised specifically for their respective tasks. This supports higher resolution, lower distortion and more differentiated reproduction of complex musical passages.
Two Woofers for Powerful Low-Frequency Extension
The two woofers provide a powerful and deep-reaching bass foundation. Their larger combined diaphragm area allows the loudspeaker to reproduce low frequencies with substantial volume and controlled dynamics.
Bass impulses are designed to remain precise and clearly structured even at higher listening levels, without overpowering the midrange and treble.
Dedicated Midrange Driver for Vocals and Instruments
A separate midrange driver reproduces the frequency range that is particularly important for vocals and many instruments. Because it does not also have to handle deep bass frequencies, it can focus on delivering a precise and natural midrange.
Vocals, guitars, piano and acoustic instruments can therefore be reproduced with greater clarity and definition within the overall soundstage.
Air Motion Transformer for Finely Detailed Treble
An Air Motion Transformer is used for the high-frequency range. Its folded diaphragm moves air particularly quickly, enabling precise transient reproduction at high frequencies.
Subtle details, overtones and spatial information are reproduced clearly. The newly developed faceplate also influences sound dispersion while adding a distinctive visual accent to the front of the loudspeaker.
Rearward-Sloping Baffle
The baffle of the ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature is tilted slightly backwards. This aligns the different acoustic path lengths of the individual drivers.
The time-aligned arrangement improves the interaction between the tweeter, midrange driver and woofers. Vocals and instruments can therefore be positioned more precisely within the spatial soundstage.
Newly Tuned Crossover
The newly developed crossover distributes the music signal between the three driver sections. Its tuning determines how evenly the treble, midrange and bass ranges blend together.
The aim is a smooth transition between the frequency ranges, high resolution and the lowest possible level of distortion.
Developed with Fink Audio Consulting
The ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature were developed in close collaboration with Karl-Heinz Fink and Fink Audio Consulting. The drivers, crossover and dispersion characteristics of the loudspeaker were among the areas optimised during development.
The technical tuning is designed to provide controlled reproduction, deep and powerful bass, and even sound distribution throughout the listening room.
Improved Dispersion Characteristics
The arrangement of the drivers, the sloping baffle and the design of the AMT faceplate influence how sound is distributed throughout the room.
Controlled dispersion supports a stable soundstage even outside the central listening position and makes it easier to integrate the loudspeakers into different living spaces.
Slim, Hand-Sanded Cabinet
Despite their sophisticated 3-way construction, the ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature are Sonoro’s slimmest floorstanding loudspeakers to date. The cabinet is sanded by hand and finished with a matt surface.
Rounded edges and a cleanly designed front combine the technical construction with an understated appearance suitable for modern living spaces.
Signature Line for Sophisticated Stereo Systems
The ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature represent the flagship model in Sonoro’s passive loudspeaker range. They are aimed at listeners who want to combine deep bass, precise midrange, finely detailed treble and spacious stereo imaging.
With their 3-way configuration and development in collaboration with Fink Audio Consulting, they are suitable for high-quality stereo systems and medium-sized to larger listening rooms.
