Centerpiece: Decoupled Carbon Tweeter in a “Tweeter-on-Top” Design
The most striking feature is the freestanding 25-mm tweeter with a carbon dome, which is mechanically decoupled from the main enclosure. This decoupling keeps cabinet vibrations at bay, ensuring that high frequencies are reproduced more cleanly, clearly, and with less distortion. It is complemented by a particularly open grille, originally developed for the 800 Series Signature, which provides additional acoustic transparency.
Continuum mid-bass driver for natural musicality
The 165-mm low-midrange driver utilizes Bowers & Wilkins’ patented Continuum composite cone. It replaces the previous Kevlar technology and delivers more controlled damping—resulting in voices and instruments with exceptional naturalness and detail resolution, without any coloration in the crossover region to the tweeter.
Fine-Tuning Down to the Last Detail
Compared to the standard 705-S3, the Signature model features an optimized low-midrange driver system, higher-quality capacitors in the crossover, and redesigned speaker terminals. The flow-optimized Flowport bass reflex port also ensures a powerful yet low-noise bass response.
